At Watford Freestyle we cater for all age groups, including children as young as five years old.
With our “Li'l’ Dragons” program, we aim to make each class as enjoyable as possible, by playing Team Games, a version of Simple Simon Says, Relay Races and many more as part of our warm up program. These activities are designed to get the children used to using a variety of different muscle groups.
We will take time out for huddle discussions where we will talk about a lot of different things. Sometimes the children will have things they want to talk about, and then we will discuss different topics on life and safety skills, such as stranger awareness, fire safety and more. At the end of each topic (which could last 4-5 weeks) the children will be tested and they will then be presented with badges to be attached to their uniforms.
During our lessons we also teach basic Kickboxing moves. The children have an opportunity to progress through the seven belts in our curriculum to earn their Black Belt. This is the equivalent of a Blue Belt (3rd Belt) in the Watford Freestyle Club, and gives them a good basic knowledge if they decide to transfer come their eighth birthday.
At “Lil' Dragons” we also encourage the children to join in the Demonstrations we do at local School Fairs and shows.
