Natasha Ryan, Shannon Ryan and Patrick Hogan, set off for Belgium, from Luton Airport on Friday morning. The guys put in weeks of hard training for this competition and boy did it pay off with each of the guys taking out all opponents that stepped onto the mat to challenge them in the prelim rounds.
Patrick, Shannon and Natasha, fought there way to the finals and had to fight on stage in a sell out venue.
Shannon was first up for the trio in her final against a local girl in the girls – 46kg. Shannon’s, kicking skills proved to be too much for the local girl and went on to win.
Patrick, was next up. Patrick’s, strength, precision and timing was so good his opponent was left bemused, it was nice to see the smile on Patrick’s, face when his hand was raised at the end of his bout.
Natasha, was last up but Tash, was involved in two finals. First final was against the talented Charlie Maddock, in what was a great fight with Tash, having to settle for second place, losing by just one point.
Her second final was against a Hungarian, girl, once again she was involved in another great fight and once again losing by just one point had to take second place but Tash, was well chuffed with her performance.
